For this update, I've managed to finish off my full research on my selected profession. I researched about the technological future this specific job is in for as well as the whole medical field itself, talking about the advantage sand disadvantages of the job in the future in terms of whether or not someone in the medical field could entrust a patient's life to technology, probably not fully though. I've also talked about the salary range this job could provide to an employee, as well as the wide variety of opportunities and benefits that open itself up to anyone who has managed to get into this industry, specifically with the Fraser Health organization. I also managed to get through most of the slides in being an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse as an alternative), then starting on the Registered Nurse in the Paediatrics slides. And this has encouraged me even more to really look forward to taking up this career in the future, as the amount of benefits and insurances that o...

For the weekend, I spent more time on my research paper, opening up a Prezi presenter to start up my powerpoint presentation work this week. But more importantly, I researched and looked at the Nurses' occupation in the future as well as what it might looks like with all of the pandemic stuff going on and the importance of technological advancement and how it might be a pro or a con in the medical field, as some tech are considered liable and some more unreliable. So, technological experts are working closely with medical experts to make a way to decrease the difficulty of running certain tests (using the power of technology to somehow make it easier to run these said-tests more faster and efficiently.  For this week's mid-week check-in, I have started to consider my occupation and potential job sites I could apply to and put to work the skills that I would have learned throughout my academic and social studies at my designated university. I looked at Canada's top sources for applying for a job in the medical field, those being both Fraser Health and Providence Healthcare . These sources explain, in detail, amazing job opportunities anyone could have within the medical field, have it be casual, part-time, and/or full-time work. They both don't only focus on Registered Nurses or Pediatrics, but also focus on Psychiatric Care, ICU Care, Ambulance Units, Senior Care/Care-Givers, Senior Home Volunteering, etc. So, I found no other reason but to stick with these two options. As of this coming weekend, I'll still be focusing on this part of my extensive research, looking at more opportunities in or around Canada even. One thing I'd work on would be researching outside o...

For the next part of my Capstone Research project, I looked more in-depth into the three potential universities I'm planning to take my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) in. I analyzed various factors such as their programs, fees, pre-requisites etc. in order to be considered into admission at that specific campus/university. I looked into the individual school's expectations before, during and after the program itself, keeping in mind all of the skills I currently possess and the skills that I need to attain before going into that university. For this part, I struggled with pointing out key facts, as each of the universities' requirements are pretty hefty in detail, so, I really needed to look out for the key facts that an undergraduate student/high schooler needs to know when thinking about applying for a university. All in all, this part of the research may be one of the most useful piece of information I have learnt through the process of this capstone project.

Starting my Capstone Research into the world of RN Pediatrics, I looked into what this job has to offer for a student like me trying to acquire this occupation in the future. I also looked at the inside work of the various occupations within the Nursing in Pediatrics section of the workforce, outlining every detail of what a pediatric nurse does within the day, which I kind of had troubles with because being a nurse, you're probably not going to do anything a normal nurse does, as in the medical field, everything you do is almost considered to be spontaneous. But the essential list that I have put on to the document does outline the major things you do as a Nurse, especially in the Pediatrics sector of things.
